Published: 08/02/2025

Do you ever feel like escaping the noise of the city? I did, and I found the perfect place, Pir Chinasi. It’s a quiet spot in the mountains of Pakistan, surrounded by tall trees and fresh air. Standing at an elevation of 9,514 feet, this breathtaking destination is famous for its shrine, adventure sports, and scenic views.

Let me tell you why I fell in love with it and why you should visit it too.

Where is Pir Chinasi?

Pir Chinasi is in Azad Kashmir, about 30 kilometers from Muzaffarabad. It’s named after a saint, Pir Chinasi, and is known for its natural beauty and calm atmosphere.

The journey to this spot is just as breathtaking as the destination itself. The well-paved road winds through lush green hills, offering spectacular views along the way.

What Makes Pir Chinasi Special?

Pir Chinasi is special because of its lush green forests, cool weather, and peaceful vibe. The tall pine trees make the air smell fresh, and the gentle sound of the wind creates a calming effect. One of the most magical sights here is the way clouds touch the ground.

Sometimes, the clouds float above you, and at other times, they settle below, creating a dreamy atmosphere.

On clear days, you can enjoy panoramic views of Jhelum Valley, Chakothi, and Neelum Valley. If you’re lucky, you can even spot Muzaffarabad’s highest peak, Spider Peak.

My Experience

When I visited, I sat under the trees and felt completely at peace. It was like time slowed down for a moment. The cool breeze, the chirping birds, and the breathtaking mountain views made it an unforgettable experience.

One thing to note is that there are no restaurants at the top, so bringing your food is a good idea.

However, small stalls offer snacks and tea to keep you refreshed. If you plan to stay overnight, the nearest guest houses are in Saran, about 2-3 km before Pir Chinasi.
